We toyed with the idea of launching the Cormorant dinghy, after an hour of go, no go wrangling, we didn't but went over to Emsworth anyway, the wind stated to drop and the sun came out by which time the tide was disappearing at a rate of knots - sometimes you just can't buck the system!
